Sean Cottrell (Sports Science BSc, University of Essex; Graduated Diploma in Law, BPP Law School) a former Vice-President of the Students' Union of the University of Essex. Sean was a co-editor of the first free Sports Law website in UK from June 2008 and has worked in financial roles for DLA Piper, CMS Cameron McKenna, Simmons & Simmons, SJ Berwin and Charles Russell. Sean is a keen sportsperson and coach having played basketball for Crystal Palace (now London Towers) as youth player, winning in honours in amateur boxing and founding of the University of Essex Amateur Boxing Club. Kevin Carpenter (LLB Law with Business, University of Birmingham) joined LawinSport in March 2011 becoming Executive Contributor shortly after in August 2011 following publication of his seminal piece on worldwide match fixing across all sports. Kevin has experience in Intellectual Property, EU & Competition, Corporate law, Corruption and Litigation. Kevin has also addressed delegates at conferences and seminars on various topics, primarily in the field of sport and corruption. Kevin is a qualified 11-a-side football and Futsal referee. Kevin also enjoys playing golf, tennis and cricket and is a keen follower and supporter of all sports including football, rugby union, F1, rallying, and NFL. Alfonso Valero (Bachelor of Laws, PGC in Sports Law King’s College London) is a dually qualified Solicitor (England and Wales) and Abogado (Spain). Alfonso is a co-founder and former Editor of Lawinsport.com. He is also registered in The FA Football Agents Regulations. He has developed his career in Ireland, Spain and England. He launched the first free Sports Law website in the UK in April 2008, and has been involved in the sector ever since as a Solicitor, Editor or Lecturer. He is Sports Law lecturer in different universities in the UK and abroad and delivers seminars about Sports Law internationally.
