Betul is the sole Legal Counsel, Sports Acquisitions, Europe & Africa for FOX Sports, based in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. In close coordination with the US Business & Legal Affairs team, she acts as an adviser on any sports related legal and business affairs matters in Europe and Africa, providing legal counsel, legal risk assessment and legal guidance in acquisitions of sports media rights.

As the youngest awardee of Legal 500 General Counsel Powerlist (of Turkey, in 2017), Betul is an attorney admitted to Istanbul Bar and Bar Associations of Turkey, a trademark agent admitted to Turkish Patent Institute since 2011, and Legal and Disciplinary Board member of Turkish Hockey Federation since 2012.

Betul has written articles and delivered speeches and lectures as a guest lecturer at the MBA and LL.M. programs on the intersection of sports, technology, media and intellectual property. She is currently authoring the national chapter of Media Law, of International Encyclopediae of Laws, forthcoming by Wolters Kluwer. Her involvements further include International Criminal Court Moot Court Competition 2018 as an evaluator and bench member and 26th Annual Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot as a judge and arbitrator.

Before joining FOX Sports, Betul worked as an in-house counsel to a leading media holding, responsible for its operations in EMEA and Latin America; and as an associate at a leading law firm in Istanbul, representing Fortune500 companies in intellectual property law related matters; and an advisor to Turkish Basketball, Volleyball and Hockey Federations.

Betul holds LL.M. degree from University of California, Berkeley, School of Law, Boalt Hall with Fulbright Scholarship, and thesis on the Right of Publicity of Athletes in the US and Europe. She served as the Development Editor of Berkeley Journal of Sports and Entertainment Law and as an Assistant Editor of Berkeley Technology Law Journal. She obtained B.A. in Law (equivalent of LL.B./JD) degree, cum laude, from Bilkent University of Turkey.
