Aurora and North One to bring Extreme E's broadcast to life with cutting edge-approach

Extreme E

The ever-broadening reach and appeal of pioneering new electric off-road motorsport series Extreme E has today been bolstered by the confirmation of a new broadcast deal with Saran Media Group that will see the championship shown live in Turkey.

The inaugural season of Extreme E next year will see purely-electric SUVs racing wheel-to-wheel in some of the most remote, spectacular and dramatic environments on earth, from the Arctic to the Amazon Rainforest, in a unique five-race global odyssey.

All of the race locations have been severely damaged or affected by either climate change or human influences. Extreme E’s objective is to highlight the challenges of these diverse ecosystems while raising awareness, driving sustainability and inspiring action through world-class motorsport.

Season 1 will get underway in early 2021, and all of the X Prixs will be broadcast in Turkey on Saran Media Group’s S Sport and S Sport2 channels as well as via the S Sport Plus digital platform.

In addition to live race coverage, the agreement includes broadcast rights for repeat, catch-up and highlights shows and the full Extreme E documentary series. S Sport is also available on the Digiturk, D-Smart, TiviBu, Turkcell TV+, VodafoneTV and KabloTV digital platforms.

Ali Russell, Chief Marketing Officer at Extreme E, said: “We are delighted to announce Extreme E’s latest broadcast partnership with Saran Media Group. Turkey is an important market for us and as a country, is a passionate and committed supporter of the automotive industry’s electric future.

“We are very much looking forward to showcasing the outstanding capabilities of our own cutting-edge electric vehicle – the ODYSSEY 21 e-SUV – to a large and engaged audience via Saran Media Group’s wide range of top-tier Turkish platforms.”

Selim Usta, Head of Sports at Saran Media Group, said: “Despite the turbulent times due to the global pandemic, we are excited to add this fascinating new series into our extensive existing portfolio of premium sports. ”
