First aid courses must include defib training

England Boxing Logo

England Boxing coaches who take a first aid course will, from 1st September, need to ensure that it includes AED (defibrillator) training.

All registered coaches are required to update their first aid training at least every three years.

“Now every club who affiliates to England Boxing has to have access to a defib in case of emergency, it makes perfect sense for coaches to ensure they know how to use the equipment, should an emergency arise,” said Holly Pearce, Interim Head of Workforce Development Manager.

“The simplest way to make sure that defib training is included is to check the syllabus of the first aid course provider before booking a place.”
