Genius Sports partners with British Horseracing Authority to develop its betting data monitoring technology

21 September 2016 - Genius Sports, a global leader in sports data technology, commercialisation and integrity services, has been selected by the British Horseracing Authority (BHA) to develop and provide an automated Price Monitoring System that will further enhance the BHA’s integrity analysts' ability to identify and investigate irregular betting patterns in real time.
The Price Monitoring System, delivered via Genius Sports’ proprietary Sport Integrity Monitor (SportIM) platform, will enhance the BHA’s integrity analysts’ ability to monitor live betting prices, industry averages and odds fluctuations from all major bookmakers via a simple desktop application.
The system will also assist with the processes involved in sending pricing data and alerts in real time via Genius Sports’ API to the on-course stewards in order to increase the efficiency of race day integrity monitoring.
By closely monitoring the changes in betting prices, the BHA are alerted to any fluctuations at levels that are deemed unusual and historical price information will be available to assist investigations and analysis. The new software will make these processes faster, more comprehensive and more efficient than those currently in place.
The deal covers the fixtures across the entire British racing calendar, totalling nearly 1,500 per year.
