Launch of Sports Law News Roundtable E1

This the first episode of LawInSport Sports Law News RoundTable podcast brings together experts to discuss current legal events in sport.

Our guest for this episode are Danielle Sharkey (Associate at Charles Russell Speechlys), Steven Bainbridge (Partner and head of sports & events management at Al Tamimi & Co.) and Nandan Kamath (Principal lawyer at LawNK) who speak to Sean Cottrell (CEO of LawInSport) about the issues that sport is having with COVID-19. These issues include:

  • Moving sports events to new locations

  • Operating team events in a COVID bubble

  • Adjusting to new commercial and broadcasting demands

  • The potential integrity risks arising from COIVD

  • Financial vulnerability of sports organisations.

Our guest also discusses the panel’s opinions on how sports organisations may change how they view their relationship and contribution from the sports betting industry.
