From Doping to Gender Classification: where to draw the line when drafting Sport Regulations?

From Doping to Gender Classification: where to draw the line when drafting Sport Regulations?

Please join the Committee on Sports & Entertainment Law (Harvard Law School) for a discussion with two of the world’s leading international sports lawyers, Despina Mavromati and Paul Greene. From gender classification to doping, the regulatory framework in sport has created – and continues to create – tensions that go beyond the legal battlefield. Sports federations aim at setting the appropriate limits but their regulations are constantly reviewed by stakeholders or contested by athletes. Where to draw the line? Dr. Despina Mavromati and Paul Greene will discuss the recent developments through specific examples from the jurisprudence of the Court of Arbitration for Sport and other sports tribunals. Lunch will be served.
