Football Law In Practice is a 8 week online course, where leading football lawyers explain and provide practical insights into the important governance, legal and regulatory issues in football.

During the 8 weeks, we will have a combination of short on-demand lectures, quizzes, and live lectures where you can ask the lecturers specific questions you may have and gain further practical insights.

The course has been designed with LawInSport's & our lecturers extensive experience keeping football stakeholders (including lawyers, executives and administrators across federations, leagues, clubs, players unions, agents) stay up to date on important legal developments.

The course covers a broad range of issues to give a comprehensive understanding of the import legal issues in football. We have broken up the modules to cover perspectives from football stakeholders.

The course is FREE for all current & former professional players (male and female), with the caveat they are not either working as lawyer, working in the professional services sector or working in a position in sport as an executive, agents or administration role.     Who's The Course For?


    This course is for lawyers, executives, sports adminsitrators, agents, players and coaches, who want to better understand the governance, legal and regulatory aspects of football and how they practically impact the industry.

    It will be most beneficial to those working in football or with a base understanding of football industry, and/or football regulations. We provide extra materials for anyone who would like to go into more depth on each of the subjects.

    People who are invested in continuing professional development are willing to give to the following time commitments every week for 8 weeks

    - 2 hours self-learning - on-demand presentations and reading

    - 2 hours of live lectures and Q&A with lecturers per week. The live session are recorded for those that cannot attend due to work commitments.

    Who's This Course Not For?


    This course is not for you if you are...

    • Not willing to put in the time and effort to complete the course in 8 weeks.

    • Looking for quick answers and do not want to invest the time needed to understand the subject matter.

    • Wanting a quick way to become a football lawyer or agent. Building expertise, relationships and a reputation requires consistency over time and lots of investment of time and effort to build knowledge and expertise.

    • Looking for a job in football. Whilst it will certainly benefit you doing the course and demonstrate your investment in your personal development, requirements for roles in football/sports law require certain professional qualification and experience.
