Draining the doping swamp: sanctioning an athlete’s entourage using the WADA Code
This article examines how an athlete’s entourage can be regulated and sanctioned in anti-doping cases. It seeks to:
- identify the relevant provisions of the WADC 2021 which relate to an athlete’s entourage;
- explore two notable cases where an athlete’s entourage have been sanctioned; and
- consider why it is necessary for an athlete’s entourage to be properly sanctioned and regulated.
