The UEFA Academy continues to develop a broad range of education programmes dedicated to elite footballers, leading to jobs in management, administration, scouting or the media.
In this latest edition of ‘Spotlight’, which keeps stakeholders up to date on the activities being carried out by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) team and its partners, we look at the process of accreditation/approval and monitoring of anti-doping laboratories around the world, which is helping to harmonize the analysis of samples and ensure that the highest standards are maintained. As part of its ongoing efforts to promote athletes’ safety and wellbeing, the Executive Board (EB) of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) today approved the establishment of the “International Safeguarding Officer in Sport Certificate”. The course leading to certification is set to commence in September 2021. This is a first of its kind because there is currently no certificate or minimum standard of education or training for safeguarding officers in sport on an international level.
MIES (Switzerland) - Several elite basketball players that have enjoyed many years as professionals are on their way to establishing new careers with the help of the FIBA Europe TIME-OUT program.
SUVA (Fiji) - Basketball Fiji (BF) will launch their Hoops For Health Online program on the heels of their highly successful Bula Hoops Online program to continue their adaptation to the current situation regarding the COVID-19 Pandemic.
TEGUCIGALPA (Honduras) - In 2018, Carmen Cubas was chosen as the Honduras Mini Basketball delegate to take part in the first Mini Basketball Americas Convention in Mexico. She is the Development Programs and Mini Basketball Manager for the National Basketball Federation of Honduras.

The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) has launched a new education course on its Anti-Doping Education and Learning platform (ADEL), specifically designed for athletes (including their guides) and coaches aiming to attend the Beijing 2022 Paralympic Winter Games.
With the start of the Olympic Winter Games Beijing 2022 scheduled for February 2022, the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) announces the launch of a new interactive education course on its Anti-Doping Education and Learning Platform (ADEL) for athletes and coaches aiming to attend the Olympic Winter Games.
UK Anti-Doping’s (UKAD) Clean Sport at the Front Line (CSFL) took place on 14 & 15 September 2021 online.
The event was tailored towards practitioners in sport and was free to attend. More than 100 delegates attended on each day of the virtual event.
This year’s CSFL2021 looked at the importance of clean sport education for athlete support personnel and coaches. The forum presented recent research studies into coach and athlete support personnel anti-doping knowledge. UKAD introduced their new Insight and Innovation Team, who will be leading the development of research into prevalence studies, drug detection, monitoring & evaluation and data analytics.

Smith, NBPA Executive Director Michele Roberts, New Jersey Devils President Jake Reynolds, New Jersey Secretary of State Tahesha Way, and Essex County Board of Elections Clerk Linda Von Nessi announced in a virtual press conference today that the Prudential Center will serve as a “Super Polling Site” for the upcoming 2020 Presidential election pending final vote by the Essex County Board of Elections. It would accept ballots on Election Day, provide residents with opportunities to register to vote in September, and serve as a location to assist Newark residents with filling out and returning 2020 US Census forms by the September 30 deadline.
APIA (Samoa) - Samoa National Basketball Association (SNBA) partnered with the National University of Samoa (NUS) to help integrate basketball into their school calendar activities and continue the grassroots development of basketball in Samoa.
