China has removed broadcasts of NBA games after Boston Celtics player Enes Kanter called for China to give Tibet independence.
Kanter posted a video in which he said “Brutal dictator of China, Xi Jinping, I have a message for you and your henchmen. Under the Chinese government's brutal rule, Tibetan people's basic rights and freedoms are non-existent.” Following the video being posted Chinese platform Tencent cut the broadcast of the Celtics game against the New York Knicks.

FIFA has awarded the exclusive rights in Poland to the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023™ to Nordic Entertainment Group (NENT Group). The two-year deal from 2021 to 2022 includes the AFC Asian Qualifiers - Road to Qatar™, the AFC Women’s Asian Cup India 2022™, as well as the AFC Champions League™ featuring Asia’s top forty clubs.

The Premier Hockey Federation announced today it has reached an agreement that makes ESPN+ the exclusive home of the PHF in the United States during the upcoming 2021-22 season. 60 PHF regular-season games, plus special events, Isobel Cup Playoffs and Championship, will be available to stream live, exclusively on ESPN+ for fans in the U.S.

Kuala Lumpur: The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) has today announced ESPN as their new media partner in Latin America, Central America and non-exclusively in the Caribbean to broadcast AFC competitions for the 2021 to 2024 rights cycle.
The International Cricket Council (ICC) has partnered with Cricket Australia to broadcast the upcoming Australian summer of cricket into emerging cricket markets including Europe and Southeast Asia, starting with the highly anticipated rematch between India and Australia, finalists in last year’s ICC T20 Women’s World Cup.
The International Olympic Committee (IOC) today announced that the China Media Group (CMG) has been awarded the exclusive broadcast rights in the Chinese mainland and Macau (SAR) for the XXV Olympic Winter Games in Milano Cortina in 2026, the Games of the XXXIV Olympiad in Los Angeles in 2028, the XXVI Olympic Winter Games in 2030, and the Games of the XXXV Olympiad in Brisbane in 2032.
