IF gender equality webinar series opens with sessions on governance and electoral processes

Since 2015, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and International Federations (IFs) have participated in an annual forum with a view to closing the gender gap on and off the field of play. With the 5th IF Gender Equality Forum cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, a series of six online sessions opened yesterday, with the first two intended to increase female representation in governing bodies and improve women’s representation in decision-making positions.

IOC Session elects two Vice-Presidents, two Executive Board Members and five new members

The 136th session of the international olympic committee (ioc), the first-ever session to be held by videoconference, elected mr john d. Coates and mr ser miang ng as vice-presidents, and mrs mikaela cojuangco jaworski and mr gerardo werthein as members of the ioc executive board (eb). The 136th International Olympic Committee (IOC) Session, held virtually for the first time ever this Friday, approved the recommendation from the IOC Executive Board (EB) to organise two IOC Sessions in 2021.

IOC confirms FIBA representation on the Los Angeles 2028 Coordination Commission


MIES (Switzerland) - FIBA Secretary General Andreas Zagklis has been appointed as a member of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) Coordination Commission for the Games of the XXXIV Olympiad Los Angeles 2028, the IOC announced on Thursday. Richard Carrion, FIBA Executive Committee member and also Chairman of the Board for the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023, will continue as Chair of the Olympic Channel Commission.
