The New Zealand Ice Hockey Federation has withdrawn its women’s national team that was entered to participate in the IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship program due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the travel restrictions.
On National Voter Registration Day, the National Women’s Hockey League and the NWHL Players’ Association have unveiled “NWHL Votes” – a league-wide, non-partisan initiative to inspire fans, staff, players, and everyone in the close-knit hockey community to register to vote and to participate in the upcoming elections on November 3.
The National Women’s Hockey League has adopted a new governance model inspired by the time-tested approaches taken in the NHL and other major professional leagues. The transparency and alignment of interests created under the new model will underpin the continued growth and ensure the long-term sustainability of women’s professional hockey in North America.
