Ross Brown

Senior Associate, Working at Onside Law

Ross is a senior associate in the dispute resolution team at Onside Law specialising in contentious and regulatory matters within the sports industry.

Ross is particularly known for his dispute resolution experience in acting for governing bodies and rights holders including the International Tennis Federation/Tennis Integrity Unit, the England and Wales Cricket Board, Team Sky, the Welsh Rugby Union, the World Professional Billiards & Snooker Association and England Squash. He also acts for talent including professional footballers, tennis players and cyclists. He has particular expertise in regulatory matters including disciplinary and integrity issues.

Highlights include:

  • acting for the ITF/TIU in bringing proceedings against various tennis professionals under the Tennis Anti-Corruption Program;
  • acting for a professional cyclist in disciplinary proceedings before the UCI Disciplinary Commission; and
  • advising the ECB on injunction proceedings and the Two Counties Cricket league on both injunction proceedings and at an Appeal Tribunal, in each case in relation to an immigration law matter that was well reported in the national media.

He joined Onside Law in January 2017 after a number of years with City law firm Macfarlanes.

Ross sits on the Independent Disciplinary and Dispute Resolution Panel for Swim England. He is a member of Law in Sport and the British Association of Sports and Law. He has also completed the Sports Law and Practice course run by BASL in conjunction with De Montfort University.
