ESIC Issues Interim Suspension to Saviq “jmqa” Bragin
The Esports Integrity Commission (ESIC) has issued an interim suspension against Saviq “jmqa” Bragin pending the outcome of an ongoing integrity investigation.
This interim measure has been imposed to protect the integrity of esports competitions while ESIC’s investigation remains active. It does not constitute a final determination of guilt.
Nature of the Investigation
ESIC is investigating suspected breaches of the ESIC Anti-Corruption Code arising from communications attributed to Mr Bragin.
The investigation concerns conduct including, but not limited to:
- proposing or discussing the deliberate manipulation of match outcomes;
- encouraging another Participant to engage in match-fixing or related corrupt activity;
- references to generating financial gain through betting-linked conduct; and
- statements suggesting awareness of, or participation in, broader integrity-related misconduct within the competitive ecosystem.
The available material includes direct communications in which Mr Bragin appears to solicit or encourage another Participant to engage in conduct inconsistent with the principles of fair competition.
Relevant Code Provisions
While the investigation remains ongoing, ESIC’s current working case theory includes potential breaches of the following provisions of the ESIC Anti-Corruption Code:
- Article 2.1.1 – Match manipulation;
- Article 2.1.3 – Bribery and corrupt rewards;
- Article 2.1.4 – Inducing or facilitating corrupt conduct;
- Article 2.2.2 – Encouraging or facilitating betting activity;
- Article 2.3.3 – Facilitating breaches involving inside information; and
- Article 2.4.1 – Providing benefits or engaging in conduct bringing esports into disrepute.
Interim Sanction
Effective immediately, Mr Bragin is provisionally suspended from:
- participating in any ESIC Member events;
- competing in any ESIC-sanctioned tournaments or leagues; and
- engaging in any capacity in ESIC-recognised competitive activity.
This suspension is a protective measure only and does not represent a final finding. Any period served under this suspension may be credited against any sanction imposed following the conclusion of the investigation.
Ongoing Process
ESIC has issued formal directions requiring the production of communications, financial records, and other materials relevant to the investigation.
The matter remains under active investigation, and ESIC will provide further updates as appropriate in accordance with its procedures.
