Mauro Lustrinelli suspended for three matches
FC Thun coach Mauro Lustrinelli has been handed a three-match suspension for insulting the referee. He was already suspended for Sunday's match in Sion.
Mauro Lustrinelli has been retroactively handed a three-match suspension. The FC Thun coach was sanctioned by the SFL's competition disciplinary judge "for insulting remarks towards the referee" in the 81st minute of last Saturday's match in Basel .
This decision, which takes into account Lustrinelli's apology, can be appealed within two days to the chairman of the Disciplinary Committee, who acts as the sole judge. Lustrinelli
will also be suspended for the first match of the 2026/27 season.
As he was already initially barred from the bench this past Sunday in Sion – having received his fourth yellow card in Basel – he will serve this suspension starting May 14 against Young Boys, then May 17 in St. Gallen, and again during the first matchday of the 2026/27 Brack Super League season.
He will be able to attend the trophy presentation on May 14.
It should also be noted that, despite his suspension, Mauro Lustrinelli will be able to attend the Swiss championship trophy presentation after the match against BSC Young Boys on May 14. The officials' suspension only applies before and during the match.
