JJ is a Senior Associate in Lewis Silkin’s Sports Business Group specialising in commercial, media and IP issues within sport. He was recognised as a Sport Industry Group Next Gen Leader 2022 (30 under 30).
JJ advises a variety of clients in the sports industry on a broad spectrum of legal and commercial issues, from both an advisory and contractual perspective. Key areas of specialism include sponsorship (having advised on a number of deals for domestic club, tournament and Premier League shirt sponsorship), broadcast and media deals, player image rights, fan tokens and the collection and commercialisation of player data.

JJ advises major publishers, podcast creators, agencies, talent, advertisers, game developers and digital platforms on a variety of commercial issues that impact the media and entertainment sector. This includes talent deals; brand partnerships; content licensing and media rights deals; advertising & marketing; video game development; broadcast and platform content regulation; and gambling regulation. He holds the BIIAB Level 2 Award For Licensing Practitioners (Gambling).
Commercial & Technology
JJ focuses on emerging technologies relating to Web 3.0 - such as NFTs, blockchain and AI. He regularly negotiates and drafts a range of complex commercial contracts, including contracts in respect of IP licensing; SaaS and other software services; media buying; outsourcing; franchising & distribution; sponsorship; advertising and marketing; and creative services agreements.
