His expertise lies in doping matters as well as representation of athletes, clubs and officials at national and international courts of arbitration. He has a demonstrated history of resolving disputes between clubs regarding player transfers and overdue payables and he has experience representing athletes and officials at national doping panels and appeals to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) in doping matters and most recently against FIFA in cases of match fixing.
Shane is the founding partner of sports law consulting firm Javelin Sports Consulting that provides value added services to the sports industry. His main fields of interest are anti-doping, commercial and contract law, intellectual property law and disciplinary matters.
He is a SACA/CSA accredited cricket agent and currently undergoing his SARU rugby agent accreditation. Shane is an ex rugby player and also an aspiring World Rugby referee currently undergoing his accreditation.
