International Testing Authority (ITA)

The International Testing Agency (ITA), on behalf of World Aquatics, reports that high diver Scott Lazeroff from the USA has accepted a fourteen-month period of ineligibility after testing positive for the prohibited substance methylphenidate.

The ITA confirms that the high diver Scott Lazeroff has agreed¹ to the consequences imposed for his anti-doping rule violation (ADRV).

The athlete tested positive for the prohibited substance methylphenidate after providing a sample on 27 July 2025 during the 2025 World Aquatics Championships.

Methylphenidate is classified under S6. Stimulants on the WADA Prohibited List. It is prohibited in-competition and is classified as a specified substance.

The athlete chose not to request a hearing and agreed to the consequences proposed by the ITA. Accordingly, the case was resolved through an acceptance of consequences.

The athlete’s period of ineligibility is from 24 November 2025 until 23 January 2027. In addition, all individual competitive results obtained between 27 July 2025 and 24 November 2025, including those at the 2025 World Aquatics Championships, are disqualified, with forfeiture of medals, points and prizes.

The decision may be appealed to the appeals division of the Court of Arbitration for Sport by the parties with a right of appeal in accordance with Article 13.2.3 of the World Aquatics doping control rules.

The ITA will not comment further on this case.
