ESIC Issues Lifetime Ban Following On-Stage Assault at the CAGGTUS LEIPZIG Event

The Esports Integrity Commission (ESIC) has issued a formal Notice of Charge and imposed a lifetime ban on Maurizio “MAUschine” Weber following a serious incident at the CAGGTUS LEIPZIG LAN PARTY Event on 20 April 2026. This means that Mr. Weber will be precluded from participating in any ESIC Member event in any capacity on a permanent basis.

ESIC’s investigation found that Mr Weber committed a physical assault against another participant from an opposing team on stage following a match. This conduct represents a flagrant and unacceptable breach of the ESIC Code of Conduct, including violations relating to violence, participant safety, and the fundamental obligation to act with integrity and respect at all times.

Physical violence in any form will result in the strongest possible sanctions.

A live esports event is a professional sporting environment. Participants are expected to meet the highest standards of conduct. Crossing the line into physical aggression (particularly in a public, on-stage setting) is not a lapse in judgment; it is a serious integrity violation that fundamentally undermines the safety of players, officials, and the credibility of competition itself.

While ESIC does not adjudicate matters based on public reaction, the visibility of the conduct only reinforces the importance of decisive action. ESIC will not allow behaviour of this nature to be normalised, minimised, or excused under any circumstances.
