USADA announced today that Susanne Williams, of Fort Valley, Ga., an athlete in the sport of weightlifting, has accepted a four-year suspension for an anti-doping rule violation.
Williams, 51, tested positive for ostarine as the result of an in-competition drug test collected on September 18, 2020 at the American Open Series 3. Ostarine is a non-Specified Substance in the class of Anabolic Agents and is prohibited at all times under the USADA Protocol for Olympic and Paralympic Movement Testing, the United States Olympic and Paralympic Committee National Anti-Doping Policy, and the International Weightlifting Federation Anti-Doping Policy, all of which have adopted the World Anti-Doping Code and the World Anti-Doping Agency Prohibited List.
Williams’ four-year period of ineligibility began on September 18, 2020, the date her positive sample was collected. In addition, Williams has been disqualified from competitive results obtained on and subsequent to September 18, 2020, including forfeiture of any medals, points and prizes.
