The ITA reports that taekwondo athlete Maicon de Andrade Siqueira receives a 2-year period of ineligibility
The International Testing Agency (ITA), on behalf of World Taekwondo (WT), reports that Brazilian taekwondo athlete Maicon de Andrade Siqueira has been sanctioned with a two-year period of ineligibility for an Anti-Doping Rule Violation (ADRV).
The ITA confirms that taekwondo athlete Maicon de Andrade Siqueira has been sanctioned with a 2-year period of ineligibility for an ADRV under Article 2.4 of the WT Anti-Doping Rules (WT ADR)¹ as the athlete committed three whereabouts failures within a 12-month period.
The athlete did not challenge the ADRV. Pursuant to article 8.3.3 of the WT ADR, the ITA issued a sanctioning decision² imposing the applicable consequences, namely a period of ineligibility of two years from 19 January 2026 until 18 January 2028 and the disqualification of the athlete’s individual results from 13 July 2025 onwards.
The decision is subject to appeal before the appeals division of the Court of Arbitration for Sport in accordance with Article 13.2.3 of the WT ADR.
The ITA will not comment further on this case.
