The Role and Challenges of the In-House Sports Lawyer

This British Association of Sport and Law (BASL) event taking place on the evening of 21 March 2017.

This event is free of charge for LawInSport plus members (monthly and yearly) and BASL members.

Places are limited and will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.

Speakers

We are delighted to announce a first-class panel of current and former in-house sports lawyers including:

  • Stephen Ridgway, Head Counsel at Sky Sports
  • Caroline McGrory, General Counsel at Leicester City Football Club
  • Polly Handford, Director of Legal & Governance at The Football Association
  • Mary Guest, Linklaters and formerly at The Football Association
  • Ashley Blake, General Counsel at the Sports Consultancy

In what should be a fantastic evening, the panel will share their thoughts on their careers and the issues and challenges they currently face. The discussion should provide a fascinating insight into the work of in-house sports lawyers and should be of interest both to those thinking of a career in-house as well as existing in-house practitioners and also private practice lawyers wanting to better understand the needs of their clients. Audience participation will, as always, be welcome.
