What will the Rodchenkov Act mean for the fight against international doping in sport?

The Rodchenkov Anti-Doping Act 2019 (Rodchenkov Act / the Act)[1] is a short (seven section) piece of US federal legislation which, with its criminal penalties and extra territorial reach, could have profound effects on the global fight against doping in sport.  Its stated aim is:

To impose criminal sanctions on certain persons involved in international doping fraud conspiracies, to provide restitution for victims of such conspiracies, and to require sharing of information with the United States Anti-Doping Agency to assist its fight against doping, and for other purposes.

We asked LawInSport’s Editorial Board members for their thoughts on the Act, how effective it may be at tackling international doping, and whether it could risk destabilizing broader global anti-doping efforts (as the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) have suggested[2]).
