Arsène Wenger joins youth betting debate as government promises action

The government has pledged to “urgently investigate” betting on youth football as Arsenal manager Arsène Wenger has added his voice to those warning that the practice leaves minors vulnerable to corruption.

In the past two weeks Telegraph Sport has exposed the extent to which bookmakers offer markets on youth football and, as a result, two bookmakers have suspended betting on academy matches.
