Flavio Briatore set to learn whether his lifetime ban from F1 will be rescinded

The former Renault team principal is suing the FIA, motorsport's governing body, after he was found guilty by its world council last September of ordering Nelson Piquet Jnr to crash at the 2008 Singapore Grand Prix to help Fernando Alonso win the race.

Pat Symonds, Renault's former director of engineering who received a five-year ban for his role in the scandal, has also appealed to the Tribunal de Grande Instance.
