Wigan have completed the loan signing of Serbia international Vladimir Stojkovic after the goalkeeper received his work permit.

The 26-year-old has joined the Latics from Sporting Lisbon until the end of the season and will go straight into the squad to face Aston Villa on Saturday.

Cameron White, the Australia all-rounder who has played four Tests, has agreed a deal to play for Somerset in this summer's Twenty20 Cup.

The 26-year-old, who first played for the county as an overseas player in 2006, is a key part of Australia's limited-overs teams and will not be available for a full season at Taunton.

England and the other nations bidding to host the 2018 and 2022 World Cups will not be permitted to make presentations to African football leaders later this month after Qatar signed an exclusive sponsorship deal.

The decision by the Confederation of African Football to sign a deal with Qatar 2022 to sponsor their Congress in Angola on 29 January has provoked an angry response among some bidding nations who are understood to have raised the matter with Fifa.
