Making money in football “soccer" - European v US business models
LawInSport is hosting our first event at the offices of Arent Fox LLP in New York on 22 March 2018. LawInSport is pleased to welcome the ACC Sports & Entertainment Committee to our first event in New York. The evening will be an opportunity for sports lawyers, sports executives, students and athletes to discuss one of the hot topics in global sports law and network in a relaxed and welcoming environment.
Our expert panel will discuss the latest commercial and legal matters in football including the latest Premier League media rights auction, commercial licensing structures, financial regulation and more. The discussion will be framed around analysing how the model of the Premier League and the other top European leagues compares to the MLS and American models.

Samuel is the Director of Business and Legal Affairs at Swansea City Football Club, and D.C. United.
The former commissioner of the Women’s Professional Soccer league (WPS), Ms. O’Sullivan is a trusted advisor to sports leagues, teams, media and technology companies, investors, promoters, hospitality companies and sports, entertainment and lifestyle agencies on an array of issues critical to their business. Prior to joining private practice, Jennifer served as General Counsel of RSE Ventures, a sports and entertainment venture company, CEO and commissioner of WPS, and Vice President, Legal & Labor Affairs with the Arena Football League. She has also held positions at the National Football League and the Interpublic Group of Companies. While in-house, Ms. O’Sullivan was responsible for overseeing corporate, legal and business affairs at each organization.
Daniel has significant experience in the football industry and has worked on a variety of club takeovers, high profile transfers, commercial endorsement deals and disputes.
Daniel’s practice focuses on helping clients in the sports sector, including rights holders, leagues, governing bodies, clubs, agencies, athletes, sports technology companies, broadcasters and financial institutions.
Daniel also works in the wider entertainment industry advising on competition and anti-trust matters.
Jake is the COO of Nagoor Sports, the London-based sporting division of a global investment firm with headquarters in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
He previously worked as an attorney in the sports team at Mills & Reeve and served as a consultant for LawInSport.
