The ITA reports that boxer Lazizbek Mullojonov has been sanctioned with a 3 year period of ineligibility
The International Testing Agency (ITA), leading an independent anti-doping program for World Boxing, reports that Uzbek boxer Lazizbek MULLOJONOV has accepted a three-year period of ineligibility after testing positive for the prohibited substance Methasterone metabolites.
The ITA, on behalf of World Boxing, confirms that boxer Lazizbek Mullojonov has agreed¹ to the consequences imposed for his anti-doping rule violation (ADRV).
The athlete tested positive for the prohibited substance methasterone metabolites after providing an out-of-competition sample on 11 June 2025.
Methasterone is prohibited under the WADA Prohibited List as S1.1 Anabolic Androgenic Steroids (AAS). It is prohibited at all times and is classified as a non-specified substance. Methasterone is a synthetic anabolic steroid that enhances muscle and strength.
The athlete did not challenge his ADRV. As set forth in article 10.8.1 of the World Boxing anti-doping rules²,due to his early admission, the athlete was entitled to a one-year reduction of the otherwise applicable four-year period of ineligibility. The athlete’s period of ineligibility of three years is from 22 July 2025 until 21 July 2028 and the athlete’s competitive results are disqualified from 11 June 2025 (date of sample collection) until 22 July 2025 (date of provisional suspension).
The relevant stakeholders, namely the World Anti-Doping Agency and the National Anti-Doping Agency of Uzbekistan, have a right to appeal the consequences imposed before the appeals division of the Court of Arbitration for Sport.
The ITA will not comment further on this case.
