Onside Law
Onside Law specialises in providing legal advice to clients in the sports, media and entertainment industry. Founded in 2005, it has been consistently ranked by all the independent legal directories as one of the leading sports law firms in the UK. In 2015, the firm added an office in Geneva to its original London base in order to better serve our expanding international portfolio of sporting governing body clients. Similarly, in 2019, the firm added another office in Sydney to service the Australasian market.
Our team of lawyers combine “Magic Circle” backgrounds at leading firms such as Clifford Chance, Freshfields, Slaughter & May and Allen & Overy, with practical knowledge and commercial understanding that can only be obtained from working within the sports industry at organisations such as IMG and UEFA.
This combination of technical legal expertise and sports industry experience, coupled with our experience of working with many of our clients as de facto in-house lawyers, means we understand the practicalities and the pressures our clients are subject to. Our core practice areas are commercial, dispute resolution, regulatory, corporate and IP. We act for governing bodies (including the ECB, European Tour, RFU, FIFA, FIA, World Rugby and LTA), teams (including Team INEOS, Red Bull Racing, AC Milan, PSG, Tottenham Hotspur, Leeds United, West Ham United and Southampton), individuals (including Eden Hazard, Rory Mcllroy, Victoria Pendleton, Justin Rose, Stan Wawrinka, Matthew Fitzpatrick, Tommy Fleetwood, Sir Nick Faldo and Sir Jackie Stewart), sponsors, agents and investors in sport. We pride ourselves on delivering practical legal advice in a commercial, personal and highly responsive manner.
